It has only been 5 months

Which means the kids have totally changed since the last time I posted. Fiona is now 8 months old. She rolls over, sits up, backward scoots and says Mama! She loves playing patty cake and has learned to clap. She is very ticklish and has the cutest laugh. She is tiny. A lot of people call her a little peanut. The last time she was weighed at the doctors which was a week ago Monday she weighed 13lbs 5oz. At her 6 month check up she was 26 1/2 inches long. That puts her in the 75 percentile for height and less than 5% for weight. She has an awesome appetite and loves to eat new foods. She is just a sweet baby girl.

Roanan is almost 20 months old. He loves to climb on things. His favorite TV shows are Super Why, Sid the Science Kid, Jack's Big Music Show and Diego. That's probably cause those are the only shows he gets to watch now. He is a happy kid. He loves to jabber and laugh in the middle of what he is jabbering about. He is learning new words every day. He has the most adorable blond hair. The missionaries call him little Anakin. He loves to talk on the phone but only says hi then bye bye and blows kisses. He is very good with Fiona. Hasn't quite learned that he needs to share his toys with her now but he does know which ones are hers and will bring one to her every now and then. He calls her Sisa. He has recently gotten in the habit of waking us up by yelling Sippy cuuuuuuuuupppp!!! or cup cup! He enjoys buckling things like the car seat and his booster seat. At his 18 months visit he was 34 1/4 inches (92%) and 25.11 oz (48%). He just recently weighed in at 27lbs 4 oz.

Jeffrey is nearing the end of school with the Navy and we will be hopefully moving to our new duty station sometime in March. We do not know as of yet where that will be. He is ready to been done with school as he has been doing it for two years now. He is a great Dad and a wonderful husband. The kids love him so much. Fi gets a big smile on her face when she sees him and every morning Roanan asks for Dada. We spend his midnight shifts in NH so for the longest time when the phone would ring he would say Dada! Dada! thinking it was Jeffrey calling to say hi. Jeffrey enjoys doing chain mail when he gets the chance. He has made me some earrings and a necklace just recently that I love. He has also made some money selling bracelets and necklaces to some of his classmates.

I'm loving being a mom! Feel very inadequate at times but I think all mothers do. We have recently started the Your Baby Can Read program and Baby Einstein. The kids absolutely love it and I do too cause they are learning so much and it is good bonding time with them. I am enjoying my calling. I'm on the Relief Society Meeting Committee. Anyway we plan the relief society activities and I have been in charge of the bulletin board at church. The calling has given me an opportunity to meet some pretty awesome ladies. As has my visiting teaching. I love those women so much. They teach me a lot. My companion is great. We have a lot in common.
Life has been good for us here in NY and we are looking forward to what the new duty station has to bring.

Hugs!

Rolling Over!

We were getting ready for scripture study and decided that while Fi was happy we would give her some tummy time. It took her about three minutes and then she rolled herself onto her back! It was so awesome. Ok so the pic below isn't her doing that but thought I would put an updated pic of her on the blog.

Well Checks

The kids had their well checks today. Here are the stats
Fiona
Weight - 10lbs 1oz 45%
Height - 23 inches 75%
Head - 13 3/4 25%

Roanan
Weight - 21lbs 14oz 25%
Height - 31 inches 75%
Head - 18 1/2 60% (he is actually starting to get a big head hehe)

They both had shots today. Thankfully both of them didn't cry for more than a minute or two. Unfortunately Roanan got a fever with his shots so he slept for about 4 hours in the afternoon. After he woke up he wanted to do nothing but cuddle which I loved. Poor guy teething and shots.
They both got a clean bill of health which is great.

She goes back in 6 weeks for her 2 month check up. Yay!

Fiona has arrived!

A week ago and 9 days early. Short story - Jeffrey went to work like normal. I started feeling contractions around 8:30AM after my walk with Roanan. Around 11:30 they started feeling more consistent so I called Jeffreys work so they could send him home. Had a regularly scheduled OB apt at 1:30pm which I drove myself to. Bethany Davis watched Roanan while I went to the OB apt. When I got there I was 3 cm dilated and they sent me over to the hospital to get checked for active labor. Jeffrey called me at the OB to let me know he just got the message and was heading home. He was at the hospital about 5 minutes after I arrived. My mom made it to the hospital around 7pm. I had made it all natural and it was just great to have her there towards the end for the added calmness. Jeffrey was an amazing coach! we walked around the hospital together. I did some time on the exercise ball. He praised me and was always there for me. I was at 5 cm by 5 and was at 8 cm by 8. I did not see the Dr on call since the OB office closed late on Wednesday. She arrived around 8 pm. My water had not broken at that point so she broke my water once she got there. Every time up to that point that I had been checked all they could really feel was the bulge of the water. When the Doctor checked after she broke the water she asked me when my last ultrasound was. She said that it felt a little soft. They did a quick ultrasound and found that the head was north and the bum was south. So she became my little breech baby. I guess she wanted mama to experience what labor & delivery was like all natural, with an drugs and a C-Section. They quickly prepared me for the c-section. Jeffrey joined us after the spinal was in. Once they were ready they had Jeffrey stand up and he got to see Fi come out bum first. She didn't cry for a little bit that is what I remember most. Then Jeffrey was telling me what was going on and as we were talking she started whaling. It was a beautiful sound. They brought her over to us and oh I fell in love. She was so adorable with a cute white hat on. Her face was just precious. I loved having that image in my head as Jeffrey went with her to the nursery. Especially since the drugs made me shake and I ended up throwing up quite a bit. Thankfully that was all after she was born. Now that I have experienced what it is like to go natural, have drugs and a C-Section I so want to be able to have an all natural VBAC if we get blessed with another little one. OK here are the stats and check out the numbers ;-)
