Jeffrey and I will be celebrating our two month anniversary tomorrow! Jeffrey is creating a family website which will have photos and a link to this blog. We finally have all of our reception pictures in but are still working on thank you cards. We did just received a card from the Kamerath family yesterday. I plan on taking the cards that were given to us and putting them in the guestbook we had for the San Antonio Reunion since it has a place to put paper in the back almost like a scrapbook. We received some really beautiful cards. Anyway I will post the link to the website when he is finished with it.
Within the last month Jeffrey and I made our first major purchase. We're all domesticated now haha. We were looking to buy a sewing machine when we went into Appliance Smart and walked out with a washer and dryer! Brand new washer and dryer for under $500 total. Cause they had some dents they took a $100 off each so a savings of $200. We are loving it and very happy not to be paying $35 a month for a rented washer and dryer anymore.
When we got back from our honeymoon we started attending the Leon Valley Ward cause that is the ward we thought we were in. They read in our records and gave Jeffrey home teaching assignments. We had even helped a gentleman in the ward move and had joined the ward choir! We had the missionaries over for dinner two Thursdays ago and they let us know that we were a block outside the boundary for the ward. We asked them what ward we were in and they said the 8th ward so that is the ward we attended the Sunday before conference. We are sitting in the second row enjoying the fact that sacrament meeting was at 1pm when the 2nd counselor came over to say hi. We told him the Leon Valley story and he let us know that the boundary had changed about a month and a half ago and we are actually in the 2nd ward!!!! So we attended sacrament meeting and then ran over to the ward clerks office for the 2nd ward where we met their second counselor. He let us know that indeed we were in 2nd ward and our records will be transferred over. Sunday we will attend the ward we were suppose to be in since we got married...finally!!!
OK one last note in this now long post. During the Saturday morning session of conference Jeffrey felt prompted to join the military. He knew my feelings on the subject and had no desire to join the military. We fasted and prayed on Sunday for comfort and a knowledge that this was indeed what Heavenly Father wanted for us at this time. The answer came with out a shadow of a doubt that he was to talk with a recruiter about joining the military. So the last couple of days Jeffrey has taken some tests and really looked into what branch of the military he would like to join. As of last night he really liked the job opportunities that were present with the Coast Guard so we are hoping to meet with a recruiter on Thursday. Exciting and challenging times ahead for us. This is not at all what we had envisioned for our lives but I know that it will help us grow and that things will be provided for. :)
We will see most of you in about 17 days...
